Do you admire the beautiful ByAnnie bags and accessories, but are intimidated about getting started? Our Fifth Saturday ByAnnie series returns with a class ideal for beginners, the Handle It doorknob organizer — attend for an introduction to reading and following ByAnnie patterns and to learn many of the basic techniques used to make all ByAnnie projects, such as sewing pockets and binding. The Handle It pattern is easy to sew (class will focus on creating Version 2 of the pattern) and incredibly practical: hang this 12 in. x 5.5 in organizer over your door handle or doorknob and tuck reminders, notes, chargers and more into the various slip pockets. Store everything you need to grab on your way out the door for a dog run, grocery shopping and to keep gift cards, travel reminders, and more handy. It also makes a wonderful housewarming gift, so this is a fun class for experienced ByAnnie sewists too! Students should have basic sewing skills and knowledge of their sewing machine (this is not an introduction to sewing or a beginning sewing class.) Your registration fee includes an $10 kit, which includes the Handle It pattern, ByAnnie’s Soft-and-Stable, fusible interfacing and chalkboard fabric. Download your student supply list »

About the Instructor: Katherine Nichols is a life-long sewist and avid quilter. Many of her beautiful samples are on display in our shop. Katherine enjoys teaching and sharing her love of fibers and fabrics with others!
