Kaffe Leafy Applique Blocks with Barbara Rowe

The beautiful Leafy Applique Quilt by Kaffe Fassett (previously an exclusive gift with purchase of a BERNINA 770QEE Plus Kaffe Edition), is now available to the general public from OESD! Learn to create two floral applique blocks with an assortment of Kaffe Fassett Collective scraps (or your choice of fabrics). Barbara will teach two different techniques as you create the Sunflower and Tulip designs. IMPORTANT: Participation in class requires that you download the OESD design (from your Kaffe B770 DVD, or through an OSED purchase) to a USB stick prior to the class date — download your student supply list for complete details. There are no exceptions to this requirement.
     Barbara’s completed Leafy Appliqué Quilt (shown here) features 42 raw edge appliqué blocks, all done in a hoop — after this class gets you started on your appliqué journey, you can choose to make as many or as few as you like! Blocks can be laid out as in Barbara’s example or another block layout that appeals to you — other quilt layout options will be discussed in class. Or use your blocks in a table runner, on a tote bag, as a throw pillow, etc. Pictured here, Barbara made blocks to use as panels in her Modern Japanese Rice Pouch (Komebukuro) Pattern by kzstevens.

About the Instructor: Artistic Artifacts staffer Barbara Rowe is an enthusiastic quilter with emphasis on free motion quilting and a budding embroidery student. She enjoys using both her domestic and Q20 sit down machines to free motion quilt, and is the BERNINA longarm specialist at Artistic Artifacts.
