     “In this one-day workshop, we will be working in a journal that will serve as a basis for a made to measure, fabric swatch book,” says Seth. “Imagine an updated version of an old school, vintage fabric sampler that was used to highlight collections of fabric in days gone by [Seth's vintage photos that inspired him included here]. We will start by creating mixed media backgrounds. Each book, page by page, will then be filled with a unique combination of fabric pieces, layout, design, and text. In the end, each attendee will have a completely one-of-a-kind journal — made to measure.”

About Seth Apter: This mixed media artist, instructor, designer, shopkeep, and author from New York City transitioned from a full-time career as a psychologist to being a full-time artist and maker. His work has been exhibited in multiple exhibitions and can be found in numerous books and national magazines and as a designer he has created product collections with many companies over the years, including rubber stamps, embossing powders, colors of Fresco Finish paints and much more, including his fabric collections with FreeSpirit Fabrics. “My artistic practice is based on the concepts of community and collaboration, and I believe in the power of art to bring people together,” Seth says. “Art for me is everything and sharing the process in all these different forms makes it even better.” Visit Seth’s website now »
