Leighanna calls her tin figurative assemblages “Eeeps,” and in this inspiring workshop you will work with a variety of materials and techniques to make your own! Leighanna will teach you leaf printing on metal, a technique she spent months perfecting after a happy “accident” while eco dyeing paper. Your favorite leaf print will be attached to the cover of your Eeep, and you will have extra to take home for other projects. Learn to use a two-part clay to create one of a kind faces (she will demonstrate a quick and easy way to make a mold, plus she have her handmade molds for students to use). Leighanna will teach basic cold connection methods as well as composition and design as you construct unique figurative sculptures using the metal you alter, your new faces and found objects. You will also create a small book (or whatever else you can imagine!) to reside inside the ‘belly’ of your Eeep. Each student will be provided materials to create two Eeeps (sizes approximately 12 in. x 6 in. after adding found objects); the provided tins each measure 4 in. x 3 in. x 1½ in. Your class kit — $25 kit fee paid directly to the instructor the morning of the first day of class class — includes many materials needed: tins, dowels, hardware, handmade eco dyed paper, stains, needles and thread, spray and more. Important note: Creating these wonderful assemblages requires specific supplies (order early!) “I ask that you bring these exact supplies to class because I have tested them and know they will work for this specific project,“ states Leighanna. “I will never ask you to bring something that we won’t use in class.” Download and print your student supply list with Leighanna’s links.

It’s what I live for, it’s my oxygen.” Leighanna grew up in a small town in upstate New York and currently resides in Taos, NM with her best friends best friends Thomas, Peetie, Lily, Jessie and Hairy B.
