Heat Set for Permanence and Washability: Your painted fabrics are machine washable in water up to 104° F and tumble-dried, or can be dry-cleaned, once they are heat set. After applying paint to fabric, air dry thoroughly and heat set (fabrics are machine washable in water up to 104° F and tumble-dried or can be dry-cleaned once they are heat set). To heat-set our paint, use one of these four methods: 1) Iron at the hottest setting appropriate for your fabric from the back side for 5 minutes, OR place a clean dry cloth over the front of the design and iron for 5 minutes. Do not use steam; keep the iron moving to prevent scorching. 2) In commercial clothes dryer for 45 to 60 minutes or in a home clothes dryer for 60 to 90 minutes. Use the hottest setting on the dryer. 3) Use a screen printers dryer for 1 2 minutes set at 350°F (180°C). 4) Loosely roll fabric between layers of unprinted newsprint and place in a dry oven for 2 to 3 minutes at 350°F (180°C). Note: Do not wash for 10 to 14 days after fabric is heat set. Wash fabric with lukewarm water, gentle agitation and mild detergent. Garments should be turned inside out for washing.
