Whether you’re new to Stencil Butters® or a longtime fan, this class is going to bring your Mixed-Media/Art Journaling game up a notch. You’re going to start by making a color swatch ring of all your favorite colors (and there are over 40 colors to choose from.) This’ll give you a chance to see how colors interact with water and other modifiers. Plus it’ll be a great reference tool to take home with you. From there you’ll create one or more frameable pieces of art. Jaime will walk you through technique after technique, from mark-making to stenciling, from dry brush to wet palette knife, and everything in between. You’ll leave with the swatch ring and at least one finished piece. Feel free to bring your art journal to work in. All techniques easily transfer to art journaling, trading cards and assorted Mixed Media projects. Your class kit — a $50* fee paid directly to the instructor the morning of class includes watercolor paper, a palette knife, a palette pad, sponge brush and a blending brush — all yours to keep after class! Your fee also includes the following for use while in class: 40+ different colors of TCW Stencil Butters, dozens of TCW stencils and various paint pens.

Suitable to all, from beginner to crazy eclectic enthusiast, this class offers you instruction in color theory, stenciling techniques, mixed media painting, mark-making, and experimentation as you use Stencil Butters in many different ways. All techniques easily transfer to art journaling, artist trading cards (ATCs) and assorted mixed media projects!
About the Instructor: Coming from a Fashion Design and Fine Arts background, Jaime Echt has always been drawn to beautiful colors and striking designs. She opened an art store in 1997 and soon realized that no stencils met her creative needs. With pen in hand, she drew the first of over 1,000 designs created and distributed by The Crafter's Workshop. As the popularity of her stencils grew, so did her desire to develop more tools and products that would make stencils easier and more exciting to use. The creation of Stencil Butter and Stardust Butter is Jaime’s answer to 3-dimensional effects that’ll nurture every Artist’s creative soul.
