Slider are used for adjustable straps, allowing you to adjust the length of a strap to fit the person carrying the purse or bag. The slider helps hold the strap together. These black sliders are lightweight yet sturdy with wide opening for a 1" strap. All the patterns that use this hardware give directions for attaching the slider.
