Anne Woringer has been expressing herself in fabric for more than thirty years. She studied medieval Italian textiles, and upon discovering quilting it became her passion. She evolved from researching light to dyeing antique linen used in collage and eventually to the shibori technique for a more graphic work to which she added extensive hand embroidery. This French artist has forged herself a strong reputation worldwide, thanks to her mastery of embroidery, coloration and decoloration, as well as her various explorations of Indigo through numerous textile series. In these latest works, colors appear once more in a simple manner, but shapes come with a more ancient feel, like imaginary writings or korrigans. A world of beauty and subtlety, which lead her to be selected seven times at the “Quilt National” in the USA and the addition of three of her works to American museum collections!
