Sold per 40 meter (43 yard) spool, Painter’s Threads Flower thread is a 1 ply matte cotton (equivalent to the size of a Pearl Cotton #12) that is spun from plain cotton without any finishing — i.e., Flower Thread is not mercerized. Flower Thread is wonderful for all embroidery, quilting, smocking Kumihimo braiding, lacework and more. You can use it to create a contrast to, for example, high-gloss and color-intensive silk threads, and even use it in your sewing machine (topstitching or bobbin work).
