Saturday, April 12, 2025
10:30 am – 4:30 pm, ½ hour lunch break
Location: Upstairs classroom (access via stairs only)
Just finished a mastery class or have a fat quarter pack that you are excited about? The Crosswalk Pattern by Atkinson Designs is the pattern for you. This class will include how to select fabric for the top and the accent color. Instructions will include precise cutting and accurate sewing to make the top of the quilt go together. Student Supply List:
- Crosswalk Quilt Pattern by Atkinson Designs
- 12 (twelve) fat quarters of coordinating fabrics — bring more if you want help selecting which to feature. Dudley's beautiful pink, red & purple version pictured here uses Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics!
- 1 yard of contrasting fabric
- Quilt rulers: either a 6 or 8-in. square ruler and a 24-in. x 6 in. ruler (any ruler you have that is close is fine)
- rotary cutter and cutting mat
- sewing machine in good working order that you are comfortable using
- basic sewing notions (thread, pins, scissors, fabric marking tools, etc.)
Note: students are expected to have basic sewing skills and knowledge of their sewing machine: this is not an introduction to sewing or a beginning sewing class.
About the Instructor: Dudley Shugart, a member of the Burke chapter of Quilter’s Unlimited, has been quilting for decades as well as having years of experience working at quilt shops, including Artistic Artifacts. Dudley also frequently demonstrates specific quilting techniques at the shop.
