American Bold by Frank Lloyd Wright - Circular, Ochre

Cloud9 continues their homage to the great architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, with this new collection - American Bold.  Taking cues from four of Wright's masterful designs from Wright's long career, we envisioned these four notables by extracting key elements of the abstractions. The skylight from Wright's first studio space in Chicago has been broken apart to create a pixelated rectilinear pattern. An intricate stained glass from Wright's first project in California becomes a bold, triangular repeat. A delicate triangular motif and fields of color were borrowed from Wright's rug patterns of the Imperial Hotel, his first project in Japan. A large, complex rug Wright designed just 2 years before his death is made up of concentric intersecting circles that have been flattened into a circular maze.
