Location: Upstairs classroom (access stairs only)

Create a truly one-of-a-kind clutch by combining the beauty of stenciling with dimensional fabric flowers! In this workshop, you’ll embellish your choice of either the Luella Clutch (large or small) or the Georgia Clutch using one of Aster & Anne's easy-to-use repeat stencils. Suitable for all skill levels, you’ll learn how to achieve beautifully positioned stencil designs before adding handcrafted 3D fabric blooms to create texture, color and a unique focal point. Along the way, you’ll discover tips for selecting fabrics, creating dimensional petals, stitching your flowers together, and arranging them for maximum impact. We’ll also explore thread choices and finishing details that bring your design to life. Whether you prefer a soft vintage look or something bright and contemporary, you’ll leave with a beautifully embellished clutch and the confidence to use these techniques on many future projects! Student Supply List: In addition to your Aster & Anne kit, please bring the following: scissors, needles for hand stitching; assorted small fabric pieces from your stash for the flowers, Sue Spargo wool in desired colors to match as well as WonderFil Specialty Threads such as Eleganza, Ellana, etc. (or your choice of brand) to match & contrast for your hand-stitching. (Note: bringing your sewing machine is optional; the majority of class time is focused on embellishing the felt. Aster & Anne kits are very simple to assemble on your own.)

About the Instructor: Hailing from Australia, Jennifer Moore is the designer and developer behind Aster & Anne — packaged pre-cut felt kits so you can customize your own bag or accessory. Jennifer has always worked in the textile industry, from manufacturing, wholesale and retail, including overseas buying trips, sourcing fabrics and accessories. “Having the ability to combine embellishing with felt bags and other accessories has been a dream come true,” says Jennifer. “As a ‘craft maker,’ I know the satisfaction you get when making something with your hands. To see how this can also impact a person's confidence and self-esteem is a real joy.”
