Transform an Aster & Anne Grace Tote into a one-of-a-kind work of art! Suitable for all skill levels, we’ll begin by creating a beautiful foundation using one of Aster & Anne’s repeat stencils, learning tips and techniques for achieving a seamless all-over design. Then the real fun begins! Using your choice of a gorgeous hand-dyed fabric bundle from Artistic Artifacts, you’ll take on a creative challenge — transforming those fabrics into a richly embellished tote using a combination of appliqué, embroidery, fabric manipulation, lace, beads, sequins and other decorative elements. There are no rules and no two totes will ever be alike, making this the perfect opportunity to explore your creativity and develop your own unique style. Throughout the day, Jennifer will share ideas for combining color, texture and stitch, along with plenty of tips and techniques to inspire your embellishment journey. Whether you love slow stitching, mixed media textiles or simply want to experiment with new ideas, you'll leave with a beautifully embellished Grace Tote that is uniquely yours and filled with creative inspiration for future projects. Student Supply List: In addition to your Grace Tote kit, please bring the following: scissors, needles for hand stitching; your choice of an Artistic Artifacts hand-dyed Inspiration Pack (or selection of your own hand-dyed trims / lace), and hand stitching WonderFil Specialty Threads such as Eleganza, etc.  (or your choice of brand) to match & contrast for your hand-stitching. (Note: bringing your sewing machine is optional; the majority of class time is focused on embellishing the felt. Aster & Anne kits are very simple to assemble on your own.)

About the Instructor: Hailing from Australia, Jennifer Moore is the designer and developer behind Aster & Anne — packaged pre-cut felt kits so you can customize your own bag or accessory. Jennifer has always worked in the textile industry, from manufacturing, wholesale and retail, including overseas buying trips, sourcing fabrics and accessories. “Having the ability to combine embellishing with felt bags and other accessories has been a dream come true,” says Jennifer. “As a ‘craft maker,’ I know the satisfaction you get when making something with your hands.
