Location: Upstairs classroom (access via stairs only)
In this one-day workshop, we’ll be combining paper and fabric to create a multi-layered wall hanging. To create this piece, we will be gel printing, collaging, mark making, stamping, and wrapping. As you add each individual element, it all comes together to create a unique mixed media assemblage that requires the viewer to become one and interact with the art. About Seth Apter: This mixed media artist, instructor, designer, shopkeep, and author from New York City transitioned from a full-time career as a psychologist to being a full-time artist and maker. His work has been exhibited in multiple exhibitions and can be found in numerous books and national magazines and as a designer he has created product collections with many companies over the years, including rubber stamps, embossing powders, colors of Fresco Finish paints and much more, including his fabric collections with FreeSpirit Fabrics. “My artistic practice is based on the concepts of community and collaboration, and I believe in the power of art to bring people together,” Seth says. “Art for me is everything and sharing the process in all these different forms makes it even better.” Visit Seth’s website now »
