Dye Day with Judy Gula
Saturday, May 24, 2025
10:30 am — 1:30 pm
Class will take place in our warehouse area. This workshop is ideal for the person who loves color and the distinctive look of hand-dyed fabric but doesn’t want to worry about preparing multiple dye solutions, or learning the science behind dyeing. We will work in quart-size mason jars and plastic containers — please bring 6–12 jars/containers (quart-sized, MUST have lids) with you to class, and wear old clothing that can withstand an accidental splash of dye. Bring your own fabric (½ yard or fat-quarter sized), totaling at least 3 yards — cottons, silk, rayon — that has been prewashed (do not use fabric softener). In addition to fabric, consider bringing your doilies, trims, hankies, as well as natural fiber garments such as T-shirts to dye. Your registration cost includes a $15 supply fee to cover the use of dyes and auxiliaries and one (1) yard of PfFD cotton to each student to supplement their own fabrics. Attending this class results in a huge stash of beautiful, one of a kind textiles!
