Beat the Heat Retreat with Judy

Bring a project and your sewing machine and join our community for a one-day getaway. Hang out with Judy and get some sewing done — think an unfinished project you want to complete (have you finished your Carly Mul quilt yet?), having the large space to lay out your quilts to arrange, wanting some reassurance on your sewing progress, etc. “Rent” a 6-foot table for an uninterrupted, spread-out work/play session. Note that this is a gathering, not a formal class with instruction.
Sometimes a change of scenery is all that’s needed to get creatively charged! Feeding off the creative energy of sharing a space with other Creative Minds can lead to breakthroughs that enhance your project or inspire another. Other art forms also welcome — get a project started, or finished... or just play! As with our Open Stitch sessions, you furnish everything you need, and there is no instruction provided. Please observe the following rules:
- Check in at the register before heading upstairs.
- Artistic Artifacts closes at 4:00 pm on Sunday. Our open studio end time of 3:30 pm is set to give you enough time to clean up and pack your supplies and equipment.
- Please treat our space and your fellow Open Studio artists with respect and kindness.
- Be considerate of others work, do not touch, move or bump a fellow artists table or project.
- If using paints or other wet medium, please bring a plastic dropcloth or newsprint to cover your table (and floor if necessary) to contain any mess.
