Beginning Beading with Amy Castine (3 sessions)
Saturday afternoons, February 14, 21 and 28
12:30 - 3:30 pm each session
While bead embroidery may look complicated, it doesn’t have to be! This fun class will introduce you to beginning bead embroidery as you learn and practice a variety of bead embroidery stitches and techniques. Over the course of the three sessions and homework, students will make an embellished sampler book as featured in First-Time Beading on Fabric by Liz Kettle: Learning to Bead in Nine Easy Lessons (required for class). Your registration fee includes a $20 kit fee, including most of the materials you will need for class. Warm or cool colored kits are available — please make your choice:
In addition to First-Time Beading on Fabric, students should bring the following supplies: any beads you already have that you want to use in your book; a favorite warm or cool colored fat quarter-sized (18 in. x 22 in.) piece of fabric to use as the cover of the book. As this is a 3-session class, you can bring your fat quarter in later to enable you to make the best match). A bead mat and triangle sorting trays are highly recommended.
