Pre Beginner Quilting: Yellow Brick Road Quilt with Dudley Shugart (2 sessions)
Saturdays, October 31 and November 7, 2026
10:30 am – 1:30 pm
Location: Upstairs classroom (access via stairs only)
Do you want to make a quilt, but you’re a little bit afraid of or intimidated by a sewing machine? Then this is the class for you! We will learn the very basic steps to sewing with a machine and have a simple — but beautiful — quilt as the result. Beginner cutting and sewing techniques will be emphasized too. Join Dudley to gain your confidence in handling and using a sewing machine while learning her favorite “go to” pattern for quick quilt gifts — she has made dozens over the years!
Student Supply List:
Note: while the pattern and fabric requirements are required from each student, if you don’t yet own a sewing machine, rotary cutter, ruler or mat, email us to discuss.

- fabric fat quarters — 6 different for a baby size quilt, 12 for lap size.
- If you have a few extra FQs, bring them along for the color and print discussion portion of class
