Learn how to piece and construct a stunning checkerboard table runner using nothing but your serger! In this hands-on class, you’ll master fast strip-piecing techniques to create classic 9-patch blocks, then arrange them in a bold checkerboard pattern with background squares for eye-catching contrast. We’ll cover everything from cutting and pressing to final assembly, including how to add colorful pieced side borders for a finished, professional look. Whether you’re using a BERNINA L890 with chainstitch and coverstitch capabilities, or a standard serger, this project is a great way to build confidence with serger piecing while creating a beautiful home décor piece perfect for any table. No sewing machine required — just your serger and a love of quick, satisfying projects! Your registration fee includes your $20 kit fee covering instructions and all fabric necessary to complete your runner top — finished size approximately 26 in. x 68 in. (backing fabric and batting note included).
